MEKP burns are virtually eliminated. The dispensing process is totally enclosed and interlocked so that personnel are not exposed to MEKP or other gel coat additives during the dispensing process.

Cost Savings

Chances are that gel coat usage in your plant is based on worker experience, not need. Personnel preparing gel coat mixtures are not going to pour just the amount of gel coat they need into a cup and then do the math to figure out how much MEKP they will need. They will use the same amount of gel coat every time regardless of whether the job is large or small. This way, they know how much MEKP to add without doing the math.

Quality

Plant personnel will often add more than the recommended amount of MEKP to accelerate the cure. When making repairs to existing gel coat, this practice can result in discoloration or a halo effect. The Liquid Logic MEKP Dispenser dispenses the proper amount of MEKP every time. A programmable delay between dispenses discourages plant personnel from double dosing a cup of gelcoat.

EPA Compliance

Many plants are limited in the amount of MEKP and gel coat they can use by their EPA permits. Optional software tracks MEKP and gel coat usage providing management with a means to manage VOC usage. This data can be used to incentivize workers to use less gel coat.
